The Unsourced Fantasy Collective outlines the best #ValuePlays for you to use in building your DFS lineups on FanDuel and DraftKings each week from now until the end of the playoffs.
QB Sam Bradford @ NYG FD 6700 DK 5300
Volume play here, or so I thought until Chip Kelly was unceremoniously dismissed yesterday by the Eagles. I still expect Bradford to throw it 45+ times this week but with Kelly gone you never know? In his last two games Bradford has started to show signs of life (it’s not too late is it?) posting back to back games with over 360 yard of passing. Despite the UGLY game played between these two in Week 7, seven combined turnovers, I expect this game to be more of a shootout as both defenses have proved incapable of stopping the pass (NYG 31st and PHI 30th in point allowed to opposing QBs!). Bradford will allow you to include some higher end players and should have a nice day on Sunday.
QB Johnny Manziel PIT FD 6000 DK 5100
Manziel will likely be playing from behind as he did in Week 10 @ PIT when he completed 33 of 45 passes for 372 yards but with only one TD. Volume punt play at QB here vs. a PIT pass defense that is 25th in points allowed to opposing QBs. He will be fairly low-owned as well. UPDATE: Manziel has an concussion and will likely be ruled OUT.
QB AJ McCarron BAL FD 6300 DK 5300
Baltimore is always a target on defense especially vs. the pass as they rank 24th in points allowed to opposing QBs. McCarron is a nice value punt play at QB particularly on FD. Likely very low-owned as well.
RB Steven Jackson @ MIA FD 5300 DK 3300
Rumored to be taking over the Blount role in NE, SJax started out his career as a Patriot Sunday with only 7 carries (on 9 of 56 snaps), but was only out-carried by Bolden, who had 9 (on 27 of 56 snaps), by two carries. This is a risky play, but in a game facing a Dolphins team that is second to last in the league in points allowed to opposing RBs that figures to be a blowout, I can see SJax getting a heavy load and providing HUGE upside for minimal investment especially on DraftKings.
RB Jeremy Langford DET FD 4900 DK 3600
If Forte is inactive because of the back injury that forced him from the game late last Sunday Langford is a must play this week on both FD and DK. With Forte active Langford still received 19 carries and ran for 83 yards against a better than average Bucs run defense. This week the bears face the not so fearsome DET run defense that ranks in the bottom third of the league in points allowed to opposing RBs. Prior to last Sunday, Langford had received 18+ carries on only two other occasions (Week 9 and 10) and put up a combined 57.4 FD points in those two games. On FanDuel Langford is $400 less than Steven Jackson and almost $4000 less than Devonta Freeman!!
RB Bilal Powell @ BUF FD 6000 DK 4500
Powell’s last four weeks are as follows (FD Scoring): 11.5, 17.4, 16.7, 20.8. Over those same four week he has yet to receive more than 7 carries and has yet to have less than 5 catches. Bottom line, Powell is an integral part of the Jets offense and will continue to see consistent use in Week 17 as his snap rate was up to 51% in Week 16. He is still priced well below his projected value.
WR Travis Benjamin PIT FD 5400 DK 4100
Benjamin has struggled over the past several weeks since suffering an injury a few weeks back but should be in play this week even if Austin Davis is the starter. PIT is 31st in the league in points allowed to WRs and CLE has limited options aside from Benjamin. CLE is also a big underdog (+10.5) and will likely be playing from behind all day and throwing it in an effort to play catchup. Benjamin also lit up this same defense in Week 11 with 7 catches for 113 yards. Lastly, Benjamin has burned so many folks over the past few weeks that his ownership levels should be quite low.
WR Brice Butler WAS FD 5200 DK 3000
I really don’t like anything about this game from a DFS perspective but at this price (especially on DK) I have to at least bring it up. Brice Butler was the clear beneficiary of Dez Bryant sitting out. Butler had 4 catches for 74 yards on NINE targets. Add to that the fact that Devin Street will likely miss Week 17 and the notion that Kellen Moore and Butler have some chemistry going already and we just might have something here. Dallas has nothing to play for and neither do the Redskins so I expect this to turn into an ugly track meet of sorts. Butler is min priced on DK and might be the only player worth considering in DAL this week.
WR Tavon Austin @ SF FD 6400 DK 4100
SF is a bad defense that struggles equally against the pass and the run and was victimized by Austin for 21 yards and a TD on the ground (on just 3 carries) and 98 yards and a TD on 4 catches for a total of 23.9 FD points! Austin makes a nice tournament play in that he will not be highly owned and has HOMERUN ability everytime he touches the ball.
TE Vance McDonald STL FD 4600 DK 3000
Not a lot to see here other than a TE facing a Rams defense that is 22nd in points allowed to TEs. McDonald has become Blain Gabbert’s go to guy on SF and led the team in targets, catches and yards last week. He WILL be super low owned and is priced below his value.
